Вільям Хіклінг Прескотт: биография

Праці Прескотта надихнули американського залізничного магната Едварда Айера (1841-1927) на збирання величезної колекції індіанського мистецтва і бібліотеки, що містить рідкісні рукописи колоніального періоду, що стали основою колекцій Бібліотеки Ньюберрі в Чикаго і Чиказького музею природної історії.

Увічнення пам'яті

• У Бостоні знаходиться будинок-музей Прескотта (він жив у ньому з 1845 по 1859 рр..), внесений до списку національних історичних пам'ятників США.
• На честь історика названо місто Прескотт в штаті Арізона (заснований у 1864 р.).
