Ларрі Двайт Шинн: биография


У 1984 році Шинн перейшов у Бруклінський університет, де зайняв посаду декана, завідуючи 24-ма кафедрами. Шинн виступив ініціатором великих змін умов прийому до університету. У результаті, кількість учнів в університеті чорношкірих студентів збільшилося більш ніж в чотири рази. Шинн також був призначений професором кафедри релігієзнавства.

У 1994 році Шинн був призначений восьмим в історії ректором бере-коледжу в Кентуккі, де провів ряд реформ, у результаті яких велику роль у прийнятті рішень став грати колегіальний метод.

За свою кар'єру, Ларрі Шинн написав дві монографії, одну роботу в співавторстві і виступив редактором ще трьох. Шинн також є автором двох дюжин наукових публікацій і ряду рецензій. Він опублікував дослідження з індійським релігій і міжрелігійного діалогу. Шинн також багато писав і виступав за тематикою релігійного звернення і антікультовому руху в США, зачіпаючи такі теми, як промивання мізків. У своїх останніх публікаціях, Шинн в основному обговорює релігію та екологію, а також міжрелігійний діалог.
